Near-infrared Extragalactic Background Light Fluctuations on Nonlinear Scales

چکیده

Several fluctuation studies on the near-infrared extragalactic background light (EBL) find an excess power at tens of arcminute scales ($\ell\sim10^3$). Emission from intra-halo (IHL) has been proposed as a possible explanation for signal. In this work, we investigate emission integrated galaxy (IGL) and IHL in spectrum EBL fluctuations using simulated catalog MICECAT. We that $\ell\sim10^3$, one-halo clustering satellite galaxies comparable to two-halo term IGL spectrum. some previous analyses, model assumed small signal, which may result overestimating contribution EBL. also dependence IGL$+$IHL distribution function redshift halo mass, spatial profile within halo. Our forecast suggests upcoming SPHEREx deep field survey can distinguish different models considered work with high significance. Finally, quantify bias correlation mask not accounted analyses.

On the origin of near-infrared extragalactic background light anisotropy.

Extragalactic background light (EBL) anisotropy traces variations in the total production of photons over cosmic history and may contain faint, extended components missed in galaxy point-source surveys. Infrared EBL fluctuations have been attributed to primordial galaxies and black holes at the epoch of reionization (EOR) or, alternately, intrahalo light (IHL) from stars tidally stripped from t...

Irts Observations of the Near-infrared Extragalactic Background Light

We have searched for near-infrared extragalactic background light (EBL) in the data from the Near-InfraRed Spectrometer (NIRS) on the Infrared Telescope in Space (IRTS). After subtracting the contribution of faint stars and the zodiacal component based on modeling, a significant isotropic emission is obtained in the wavelength bands from 1.4 µm to 4.0 µm. The spectrum is stellar-like, but shows...

The Cosmic near Infrared Background Ii: Fluctuations

The Near Infrared Background (NIRB) is one of a few methods that can be used to observe the redshifted light from early stars at a redshift of six and above, and thus it is imperative to understand the significance of any detection or nondetection of the NIRB. Fluctuations of the NIRB can provide information on the first structures, such as halos and their surrounding ionized regions in the Int...

The Cosmic Infrared Background Experiment (ciber): a Sounding Rocket Payload to Study the near Infrared Extragalactic Background Light

The Cosmic Infrared Background Experiment (CIBER) is a suite of four instruments designed to study the near infrared (IR) background light from above the Earth’s atmosphere. The instrument package comprises two imaging telescopes designed to characterize spatial anisotropy in the extragalactic IR background caused by cosmological structure during the epoch of reionization, a low resolution spec...
